Equipping citizens with foundational legal knowledge to navigate everyday legal challenges with confidence.

The ADOH Lionel Foundation (ALIFO) was established to extend the firm's commitment beyond legal services — investing in education, leadership development and community empowerment across Cameroon and the wider Central African region.
ALIFO operates independently but shares ALPs' core conviction: that rigorous, principled action — whether in a courtroom or a community — creates lasting change. Every programme we run is designed to build capacity, not dependency.
ALIFO concentrates its resources on four interconnected areas where legal knowledge and community investment create the most meaningful impact.

Providing access to legal knowledge and literacy programmes for communities across Cameroon.

Nurturing the next generation of community leaders through mentorship, training and structured programmes.

Supporting grassroots initiatives that strengthen social cohesion and economic resilience in underserved communities.

Bridging the gap between legal rights and practical access for individuals and communities who need it most.

ALIFO ran a legal literacy workshop series for traders at Akwa market, covering business registration, contracts and consumer rights. Over sixty participants — including Etienne Mbarga, a spare-parts dealer of twenty years — completed the programme and registered their businesses with the CFCE.
Through its mentorship track, ALIFO paired young law graduates with practising lawyers for a six-month programme. Comfort Ngo Bakang, a graduate of the University of Buea, describes the mentorship as the bridge between legal theory and the realities of practice in Douala.
Working with community facilitators in the Littoral region, ALIFO supported neighbourhood mediation sessions that helped families and small landlords resolve disputes without litigation. Jean-Paul Fotso, a community facilitator, now leads a volunteer network trained under the programme.
