Frequently asked questions

What is the process for collective dismissals in Cameroon?

Collective dismissals in Cameroon require prior authorisation from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. The employer must first consult with employee representatives (délégués du personnel), provide written notice to the Ministry setting out the reasons for the dismissals and the proposed selection criteria, and await the Ministry's decision before implementing the redundancies.
