Overview
Cameroon adopted a new Mining Code — Law No. 2023/014 of 19 December 2023 — replacing the 2016 framework and reshaping the terms on which exploration and mining titles are granted. The Code strengthens state participation and introduces reinforced local-content and community-development expectations across the licence ladder. ALPs guides applicants through the licensing process, negotiates mining conventions, and advises on the land, environmental and community dimensions that determine whether a project is bankable.
