Lionel ADOH (Esq.) is the Co-founder and Senior Managing Partner of ALPs LAW FIRM, ADOH LIONEL & PARTNERS, Douala-Cameroon — a firm built on his mastery of both the civil law (French) and common law (English) systems of practice.

A Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Cameroon, Lionel advises corporate clients on the OHADA Uniform Acts, the Labour Code and the Penal Code, and acts regularly in business disputes concerning contracts, real estate and property rights. His experience covers financial crimes compliance, oil and gas and petroleum transactions, negotiations, drafting of contracts, incorporation of companies, probate, succession and family law, land law in Sub-Saharan Africa, sports law, aviation, securities, fintech and digital advocacy, as well as legal translation.

Career: Lionel began with four years as in-house counsel, where he gained a practical understanding of the common law system, followed by two years as a civil law associate. He joined Ngwafor & Partners Law Firm (Yaounde) in 2018, becoming a Senior Associate in the corporate, commercial and litigation departments, advising a broad client base on OHADA, labour and criminal law matters. In March 2021 he co-founded the firm now known as ALPs LAW FIRM, and since December 2022 he has additionally served as General Counsel of Fertile Ground, coordinating the legal team and advising on real estate transactions and projects.

Beyond practice, Lionel founded the Cameroon Mining & Energy Lawyers Association (CAMELA) and serves on the legal bench of the African Centre for Strategic Development. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, Nigeria (ICMC).
